IMF cuts 2022 global economic growth forecast to 4.4%

The IMF revised recently its 2022 global economic growth forecast to 4.4% from the previous estimate of 4.9%, citing weaker prospects for the world’s two largest economies US and China as well as persistent inflation. The fund also predicted 3.8% global economic growth for 2023, up from the prior projection while cumulative expansion for the two years will still be 0.3 percentage point less than previously forecast.
