On February 2, 2021, Jeff Bezos announced that he would “transition to Executive Chair of the Amazon Board and Andy Jassy will become CEO.” While this change marked a major corporate governance shift for Amazon, executive board chairs have become increasingly common. According to Spencer Stuart , 15% of board chairs in the S&P 500 were designated as “executive chair” in 2021.

I had one reception and spent most of the game on the line where I belong, counting mississippis and menacing their QB. We’ve been playing in this game with the neighborhood dads and kids since the boys were babies. My son and his friends are all teenagers now.

Earlier this year, Shawnee, Kansas, banned “co-living,” meaning “renting to four or more people who are all unrelated.” It reminded me of David T. Beito and Linda Royster Beito’s 2016 study of “the lodger evil” and Progressive Era housing policy. They define the “lodger evil” as “the practice of many urban families, especially in the Northeast and Midwest, to double up through subletting” so they could “save on rent and earn extra income.
