Microsoft Acquires Intentional Software To Boost Teams


Microsoft just recently announced the acquisition of Intentional Software, a tech company with a focus on team productivity applications founded in 2002 by Microsoft’s own former chief architect Charles Simonyi. The move to acquire Intentional Software signals Microsoft’s intent to boost its future productivity solution capabilities. Last month, Microsoft launched Teams, a chat-focused workspace for Office 365 in 181 markets around the globe.

Microsoft Gets Enough Torque To Top Apps In The Cloud


Cloud-based app Slack showed heady growth through the latter half of last year, but Microsoft’s Office 365 still remained on top as the most popular cloud app geared toward businesses at 2015’s end. Looking at usage overall, Microsoft held sway, Salesforce followed and Box was third. Within firms, Microsoft Office and Google Apps often are used side by side. Total Microsoft suites — spanning Office 365, Dynamics CRM Online and Azure — were up 116 percent.
