Centre hikes windfall tax to INR 10,000 per tonne, slashes duty on diesel, ATF

The export duty on diesel was slashed to INR 5.50 per litre from 6 per litre earlier and reduced duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) to INR 3.50 per litre from the earlier INR 4 litre. The new rates will be effective from September 16. Export duty on Petrol will remain nil.

Supreme Court dismisses appeal against ND Art's insolvency

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking a review of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal's (NCLAT) order allowing bankruptcy proceedings against ND's Art World Pvt Ltd, a company owned by late art director Nitin Desai and his widow Naina Desai. RBI's composite financial inclusion index sees uptick with growth across all parameters

The index captures information on various aspects of financial inclusion in a single value ranging between 0 and 100, where 0 represents complete financial exclusion and 100 indicates full financial inclusion. "Index for the year ending March 2023 has since been prepared.
