Most NCLT vacancies filled, govt eyes faster clearances

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is aiming for faster approvals of merger and acquisition (M&A) deals and quicker resolution of insolvency cases by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The MCA has filled most of the vacancies at the NCLT, bringing the total strength to 57 out of the sanctioned 63 members. The MCA has requested the NCLT to prioritize M&A cases under the Companies Act.
